Nominations for awards revealed The shortlists for the annual Downtown Preston in Business Lancashire Awards have been revealed. Awards shortlists for the nine prizes at the business lobbying group’s annual prize-giving ceremony include entries from company officials across the county. In the award’s top prize, Professional of the Year, James Allison, of law firm Napthens, Co-operative Bank’s Stuart Fell, NatWest Commercial’s Susan Haslam, John Stanworth, of Barclays Commercial, and Moore and Smalley accountant Rob Kenmare are in the running. The awards ceremony will take place at the Stanley House Hotel in Mellor, near Preston on Thursday, September 23. The nominations are: BEST BAR/RESTAURANT: EastzEast; Fusion; Glovers Bar. NETWORKER OF THE YEAR (MALE): Richard Bamford – Enterprise Ventures; Richard Garrett – Garrett’s Insurance; Keith Pressler – Taylor Patterson; Stuart Shorthouse – Forbes Solicitors. NETWORKER OF THE YEAR (FEMALE): Kate Baker – Napthens; Debbie Pettit – Marsden Rawsthorn; Angela Smith – Write Angle. BEST MARKETING CAMPAIGN: Boom Radio/Rock FM-‘ Business Engagement Programme’; Marsden Rawsthorn – advertising campaign; My Mall.co.uk – advertising campaign; Write Angle – ‘Supporting Our Businesses’ Campaign. YOUNG ENTRPRENEUR OF THE YEAR: John French – Fat Media; Rachel Haslam – Team Academy; Justin Hodnett – JSH Group.
