Group to look at upturn A Preston business group will be looking at how to stop local firms going bust as Britain comes out of recession. Downtown Preston in Business (DPIB), which has nearly 100 members in the city, is focusing on 'Preparing for the Upturn' at its property and enterprise forum on Thursday. Guest speakers include David Acland, of insolvency firm Begbies Traynor, who will be looking at its study which has predicted hundreds of more firms will go to the wall as Britain returns to growth. He will be joined by Stewart Case, corporate services director at accountants Moore and Smalley. DPIB chairman Frank McKenna said: "Historically more firms go bust as we come out of a recession. "Hopefully, this seminar will provide companies with some useful tips to overcome the challenges ahead." For further details, click here
