Voting starts for 'Six in the City' winners

The shortlists for the first-ever Six in the City awards have been announced. Companies from across Preston have been nominated in the six categories and voting has opened for the awards, which finish with a ceremony on Thursday, September 27.

Among the nominees are Ribbleton-based supermarket Booths and James Hall and Sons, which operates Spar stores across the North, alongside professional firms including architects Cassidy and Ashton and financial advisors Taylor Patterson.

Chairman Frank McKenna, of organisers Downtown Preston In Business, said: "The finalists include some established, highly recognisable names as well as some in the younger stages of their life which is vitally important."

The awards ceremony will be held at The Great Room at Preston North End FC and is a ticket-only event.

The Lancashire Evening Post is the official media partner for the awards.
