DWF signs up to Downtown

A firm of solicitors has become the latest corporate sponsor to sign up for a new private sector group.
Law firm DWF, which has a major office on Winckley Square in Preston city centre, is backing lobbying and networking group Downtown Preston in Business (DPIB).

It follows city centre accountancy and business advice firm Moore and Smalley in signing up for the group.

DPIB chairman Frank McKenna, a former deputy leader of Lancashire County Council, said the group had attracted some "excellent feedback" from a recent networking event.

He said: "We are keen to work with the strongest players locally, and we are delighted that DWF have joined us.

"The firm is one of the best regarded in the Lancashire legal profession and will be a great addition to the team of backers supporting Downtown Preston."

DPIB recently held its second Sexy Networking event, at the Chop House restaurant on Winckley Square, attracting television celebrity Adam Hosker, who appeared alongside tycoon Sir Alan Sugar in BBC1's The Apprentice.
